Katherine Robinson is the Town’s human resources director. In 2014, Robinson earned the Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) designation from the Society of Human Resources Management.

Robinson, an Indiana-native who lived in the Sarasota, Florida-area for more than 30 years, is a human resources expert, life purpose coach, a speaker and an author.

Prior to working at the Town of Bluffton, Robinson was the human resources director for Manatee Glens, a private behavioral health hospital with more than 430 employees. Robinson formerly held human resources leadership roles for the Florida municipalities of the City of Cape Coral and the Town of Longboat Key.

In the private sector, Robinson spent years in the banking industry as a human resources professional with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) in Jacksonville, Florida, Freedom Bank in Bradenton, Florida and the First National Bank of Florida in Sarasota, Florida.

Robinson is active in support groups for acoustic neuroma (i.e. brain tumor), as she is a survivor herself. Robinson self-published a book, Expect the Best…There is Always Hope on the Horizon, about her experience as a brain tumor survivor.

Robinson has a degree in Business Management from Eckerd College (St. Petersburg, Florida) and earned her certification in Human Resources Management from the University of South Florida.
