According to US National Weather Service Charleston SC: A strong cold front will move through the region tonight bringing a threat of severe thunderstorms during the afternoon across our area.
Timing for severe thunderstorms:
*Noon - 4 p.m. across inland areas, mainly west of I-95
*2 p.m. - 6 p.m. across coastal areas, mainly east of I-95
NOTE: Actual storms are expected to last 1-2 hours once they hit our region
Hazards and impacts of severe thunderstorms:
*Damaging winds with gusts in excess of 58 mph which could down trees and powerlines, as well as cause structural damage and power outages.
*A few tornadoes are possible (some could be EF2 or greater).
*Hail 1+inch in diameter is possible which could cause damage to vehicles and sensitive vegetation.
