Two arrested, two sought in connection to Friday night homicide investigation

Bluffton police officers arrested two suspects yesterday on charges of accessory after the fact of murder, which is a felony, for their involvement in Friday night’s shooting incident which resulted in the death of a Bluffton High School student, another male student being seriously injured and a third male student sustaining non-life-threatening injuries.

The two suspects are Bluffton resident Jayden Void and Orangeburg resident Shayniah Void. Both are 18 years old, are currently in the Beaufort County Detention Center, and are being held on $1,000,000 bonds.

Jayden VoidThis investigation is still active. Bluffton Police Department investigators have obtained arrest warrants for two more suspects, Ty Leic Dae Jhon Channeyfield, 17, and Jimmie Green, 19. The warrants include charges of possession of a weapon during a violent crime, murder, and attempted murder (x2) for each suspect. 

Bluffton Police Department is working with other agencies, including the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) and the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office, to apprehend the suspects.

Bluffton Police Chief Stephenie Price said she is thankful to the Bluffton community for those who have provided tips and information in this case.

Bluffton Police Department officers are investigating a shooting incident which occurred late Friday evening. The incident happened in the area of Bluffton Parkway and Hampton Parkway.  Officers were dispatched to a single vehicle accident. Upon arrival, they discovered the vehicle had been involved in a shooting.  

Three vehicle occupants at the scene ranged in age from 16-18 years old. Bluffton police officers say an unknown suspect vehicle(s) fired at the victims’ car and the victims’ car veered off the roadway. One victim died at the scene and the others were transported to area hospitals. This appears to be an isolated incident and public safety is not in jeopardy.
