Statement from Mayor Lisa Sulka:
I, along with each member of Town Council, am grateful that Marc Orlando has been our town manager for the last six years. Together with Town Council’s directives and support, Marc’s leadership and the Town’s dedicated staff members, I am proud of the many accomplishments of our Town during his tenure. As Bluffton’s governing body, Town Council is always striving to create the policies, tools and environment to enhance our town’s culture, high quality of life and continued economic prosperity.
While my Town Council colleagues and I are sad to see him go, we applaud Marc’s next career move and wish him the best.
Town Council’s next steps include appointing an interim town manager and determining a process for selecting Bluffton’s next town manager.
Statement from Town Manager Marc Orlando:
It has been my honor to serve as Bluffton’s town manager as well as in other positions throughout my 14 years at the Town of Bluffton. Bluffton is a unique and wonderful community. I have developed so many long-lasting relationships within this community and have always worked hard to support the directives and priorities of Town Council.
I am grateful for Mayor Lisa Sulka, Mayor Pro Tempore Fred Hamilton, Councilmember Larry Toomer, Councilmember Dan Wood and Councilmember Bridgette Frazier, and the nearly 150 men and women who serve on town staff and within the Bluffton Police Department.
I thank each member of Town Council throughout my six years as town manager as they have provided support, guidance and leadership. I wish the Bluffton community continued success and prosperity in the years to come.
