Town reopens playgrounds

Town Manager Marc Orlando reopened Town of Bluffton public playgrounds on Saturday, October 3.

The three Town-operated playgrounds are located at 1) DuBois Park 2) Oscar Frazier Park and 3) Buckwalter Place Park.

The following protocols are in place to promote public safety while using playgrounds:

•Hand sanitizing stations have been installed at each playground.

•Signs, in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines, have been installed at playgrounds reminding  users of safety protocols.  Signs are printed in English and Spanish.

•Playgrounds will be cleaned by the Town’s public works staff every morning and afternoon with soap and water.  According to the CDC,  playgrounds require normal routine cleaning and do not require disinfection.

Town officials will continue to monitor the local COVID-19 infection rate and these protocols may be modified at any time in accordance with any future CDC, SC Department of Health and Environmental Control or other published guidelines and/or the discretion of Town officials.
