Starting the weekend, Bluffton Bike Tax, through a contracted award by the Town of Bluffton, is offering free rides throughout the Bluffton Historic District from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
“This is a great opportunity for us, a Bluffton-based business, to provide a service which will enhance the convenience of the Historic District during peak dinner hours,” Trey Snow, owner of Bluffton Bike Taxi, said.
Providing a bike taxi service was identified as a line item priority in the Fiscal Year 2021 budget. Residents and visitors can call Bluffton Bike Taxi or direct message a representative via Facebook or Instagram. The cell phone number for the company is 843-707-6807. This is a free service from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
“The Town, through hospitality tax funds, is excited to partner with Bluffton Bike Taxi to offer more accessibility to the restaurants, stores and businesses in the Historic District,” Town Manager Marc Orlando said. “We hope residents and guests enjoy this service as a new dimension of experiencing Bluffton.”
There are two pickup locations at Wright Family Park at the end of Calhoun Street as well as Martin Family Park on Boundary Street. Both parks have parking lots and the Town has installed signs to designate them as pick-up locations. However, residents and guests can be picked up and dropped off anywhere in the Historic District, free of charge, during these hours and days of operation.
