The Town of Bluffton hosted its first Lutzie 43 5K Road Race on August 3, 2019. The 5K course was run through Bluffton’s Old Town Historic District. The Lutzie 43 Foundation started the Road Race in 2014, shortly after Philip Lutzenkirchen’s passing. The race is hosted in Marietta, Georgia, Philip’s hometown, but has grown over the past years to feature remote runs from everywhere in the country.
