The Citizens Police Academy is an 8-week program designed to allow residents to informally interact with members of the department and local criminal justice system. Class participants will have the opportunity to meet officers from each of the department’s specialized units and hear from guest speakers.
During the program, citizens learn more about the following topics:
- Community Relations

- Traffic Enforcement
The course takes place October through December of each year. Class participants meet once a week at the Bluffton Police Department in the evening for a two and a half hour time period. Applications begin being advertised on the department’s social media outlets in July.
