The Town of Bluffton contracts with Waste Management to provide recycling and trash pick-up service for residents within town limits. The Town and Waste Management are committed to improving and providing the best customer service for our residents.
Waste Management is committed to making its operations better through the construction of a new state-of-the-art facility located in Hardeeville, South Carolina, and through the purchase of new trucks utilizing natural gas, which will reduce the impact on the environment.
Pick-Up Schedule
Please refer to the Pick-up Schedules for Trash and Recycling (PDF) as they may not be on the same day. The following holidays are observed by Waste Management and will cause the pick-up schedule to move back by one day for the balance of the week that the holiday falls. These holidays are:
- New Year’s Day
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
Resident Information
All containers should be placed curbside the night before scheduled pickup days to avoid your container being missed. Approved containers are the 96-gallon Waste Management trash cart, the 96-gallon Waste Management recycle cart, and black plastic trash bags designed to store and enclose solid waste with sufficient wall strength to maintain physical integrity when lifted by the top. The total weight of a bag with contents shall not exceed forty pounds.
