Welcome to Engineering

 

The primary responsibilities of the Engineering Department are:

 

Capital Improvement Program (CIP):  Provide overall direction to the Town's CIP projects including short and long term budget planning, and project execution:  scope definition, design, construction, budgets, schedules, technical and quality.

 

Project Subcontracts:  Perform contract administration and oversight of all CIP supporting contracts including consultants, design engineers, contractors testing and other related services suppliers.

 

Contract Administration:  Develop and oversee Town contracting processes to ensure compliance with ordinances and regulations by all departments.  Duties including review of solicitations, contract documents, bid evaluations, and change orders, along with interdepartmental training in the purchasing process.

 

Staff:  Assist and support other staff functions as directed by Town management.

 

Construction Management / Inspections:  Oversee project contracts and construction execution including preparing work scopes, field management, permitting, scheduling, testing, inspections and acceptance.

 

Transportation:  Support development of Town's transportation agenda policies, and projects.  Interface with State and County roadway programs and implementing road, pathway, streetscape and related projects.
