*2012 Business License Renewals*

Business license renewals for 2012 were mailed out January 2012.  We are aware that your license expires on December 31, 2011.  However, due to the nature of our renewal period, there is a grace period and your business license will be considered valid until April 16, 2012.

The Town of Bluffton requires businesses operating within the Town limits, including home occupations to obtain a Town of Bluffton Business License.  Applications for new business licenses are made by submitting a completed application either by mail to Business License, PO Box 386, Bluffton, SC 29910 or in person at the Business License office located at Town Hall, 20 Bridge Street.  Please attach a copy of all applicable certifications or State Licenses.  If the business is a home occupation, please also print and submit a "Home Occupation Application".   Business License approvals and processing generally take 3 to 7 business days and the license will be mailed to your mailing address.

 

All new accounts opening from 7/1/11 to 12/31/11 are required to pay only 50% of the "Application Fee" shown on the "Fee Schedule" after determining your classification using the "Rate Classification Index" based on your type of business and location.

 

All business licenses expire on December 31st of each year regardless of when the account was opened and are renewable annually, based on the previous year's gross, on or before the deadline, April 15th, to avoid penalties.
